Brussels Hosts "Towards the Green Future: The European Green Deal" Brokerage Event

On November 16, 2023, Brussels was the venue for the highly anticipated "Towards the Green Future: The European Green Deal" Brokerage Event. Organized by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) with support from the GREENET and Enterprise Europe Networks, the event aimed to unite Turkish and European researchers, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to foster collaboration on Horizon Europe research and innovation projects.

Held at the Tangla Hotel, the event featured a series of workshops and networking sessions, providing participants with an invaluable platform to explore project ideas, gain insights into upcoming Horizon Europe calls, and expand their professional networks. The workshops were designed to align with the European Green Deal's core objectives and included the following key topics:

  • Cluster 5: Energy and Mobility - Focusing on clean and sustainable approaches.
  • Cluster 6: Circular Economy and Bioeconomy - Addressing food and agriculture, and zero waste.
  • Cluster 4 & Research Infrastructure - Covering digital, industry, and research infrastructure.
  • Cluster 2: Social Science Integration - Integrating social sciences into the Green Deal.

The event attracted a diverse group of high-level participants, including academics, industry leaders, and policymakers from various countries. It provided a stage for showcasing exceptional opportunities for those aspiring to academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, and nonprofit dedication. Participants had the chance to present their scientific and technological capabilities, interests, and ideas, forging new partnerships with their European counterparts.

Keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and bilateral meetings allowed for extensive discussions on potential collaborations and project development, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges.
